Homelessness

4th and Hope is an overnight shelter in Woodland

City of Davis offers resources as well as a daytime respite center at 530 L Street in Davis

Hope at Davis is a UC Davis student run outreach program that “empower[s] local unhoused individuals by cultivating a supportive and judgment-free environment”

Yolo County Housing Authority offers housing vouchers and the ability to apply for public housing

Public Safety

Anti Police-Terror Project is a “Black-led, multi-racial, intergenerational coalition that seeks to build a replicable and sustainable model to eradicate police terror in communities of color”

Decarcerate Sac is “a coalition working to build power among Sacramento County residents. Our goal is to drastically decrease jail populations, prevent jail expansions, and shift funding from policing and incarceration to community-based systems of care”

Climate Change

Climate Strike Davis is “an intergenerational group of people who push for immediate action towards climate justice through street actions and demonstrations”

Cool Davis is an active network of residents, community organizations, businesses and community institutions committed to implementing the City of Davis’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan.

Labor Organizing

Sacramento IWW is “a worker-led union dedicated to direct action, workplace democracy, and industrial unionism”

United Students Against Sweatshops is “a student organization that works to organize labor and fight for living wages for workers”

Survivors of Domestic Violence

Empower Yolo “provides twenty-four hour crisis intervention, emergency shelter, confidential counseling, training, legal assistance, and other services for individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and child abuse”

The Yolo Crisis Nursery offers voluntary and free childcare from birth through age five years, 24 hours per day and 365 days per year. The also provide navigation assistance to families. Help line: 530-758-6680.

Immigrant Support

ApoYolo is “a partnership with the Yolo Interfaith Immigration Network to support Spanish-speaking immigrant communities in Yolo County during COVID-19”

Norcal Resist is “building infrastructure against oppression and empowering our communities through shared resources and support”

Indivisible Yolo is “working toward[s] a more robust democracy and advocating for progressive policies”

Yolo DSA is “the Yolo chapter of Democratic Socialists of America, committed to ending economic, racial, gender, and all other forms of oppression. We envision a future that is truly democratic and values human life above profit”

YDSA @ UC Davis is a branch of DSA whose mission is “to educate and organize young people to play a helpful and principled role in the movement for social, economic, and political justice”
